PayPal fee calculation guide

Use this calculator when you want to estimate what remains after a standard commercial PayPal payment, or when you need to work backwards from a target net amount. The selected customer region changes the applicable cross-border surcharge for a Netherlands merchant account.

Formula

For gross-to-net calculations, Earnquo applies the percentage rate to the payment amount, adds the fixed EUR fee, then subtracts the total fee. In reverse mode, it solves for the smallest charge that still leaves at least your requested net amount after cent-level rounding.

Example

With the current Netherlands standard EEA assumptions, a €1,000 payment produces an estimated €34.35 total PayPal fee and €965.65 net. To receive exactly €1,000 under the same assumptions, the reverse calculation gives €1,035.56.
